Art Is Felt Before It Is Understood: The Emotional Language of Abstract Art

One of the greatest misconceptions about art is that we must first understand it in order to connect with it.

But the opposite is often true.

We feel art long before we understand it.

A color can remind us of a forgotten memory. A texture can evoke comfort. A composition can create tension, calmness, wonder, or reflection without a single word being spoken.

This emotional response happens instantly and often unconsciously.

As an abstract artist, I am less interested in illustrating a specific story and more interested in creating a space where emotion can exist freely.

Through color, texture, movement, and layered forms, I explore the invisible landscapes that shape human experience. The feelings we carry, the memories we store, the transformations we move through.

For me, abstract art is not decoration.

It is atmosphere.

It is presence.

It is a conversation between the artwork and the viewer.

This is also the foundation of my series States of Becoming, where each painting explores a different stage of inner transformation. Rather than offering answers, the work invites reflection and personal interpretation.

Perhaps that is why certain artworks stay with us.

Not because we fully understand them.

But because they understand something within us.

And maybe that is where the real power of art begins.
