Art Series, Art Collection or Art Project? What Is the Difference?
When you explore an artist’s work, you may come across words like series, collection and art project.
They may sound similar.
But they are not the same.
And for me, the difference is important.
Because sometimes I create a group of paintings that belong together.
Sometimes I bring together works around a larger artistic idea.
And sometimes, I want something to happen beyond the canvas.

ART SERIES — WHEN PAINTINGS SHARE A COMMON LANGUAGE
An art series is a group of artworks connected by a common theme, visual language, idea or period of exploration.
The paintings can be experienced individually, but together they reveal a larger story.
For example, STATES OF BECOMING explores transformation — the space between who we were and who we are becoming.
The series moves through ideas such as The System, The Fracture, The Noise, Rearrangement and The Balance.
Each painting is a moment.
Together, they become a journey.
Another example is ABSTRACT OCEANS BLUE SILENCE, where I explore water, silence, movement, horizon and the feeling of returning to ourselves.
These are not simply paintings of the sea.
They are my way of translating the energy of water into abstract form.
A series is a conversation between paintings.

ART COLLECTION — WHEN WORKS COME TOGETHER AS A WORLD
An art collection brings artworks together through a broader curatorial idea.
For me, this idea is deeply connected with Nature.
THE FIVE ELEMENTS is a portfolio built around five forces:
WATER — EARTH — AIR — FIRE — SPIRIT
They are elements of Nature, but also elements within us.
Water can speak of calm and flow.
Earth of grounding and belonging.
Air of freedom.
Fire of energy and transformation.
Spirit of connection, faith and the invisible.
Together, they form a larger artistic universe.
The paintings may be different.
Their stories may be different.
But they belong to the same world.
A collection creates a larger universe around the art.

ART PROJECT — WHEN ART BECOMES ACTION
And then there is something different.
An art project does not have to end with the painting.
For me, an art project begins when an idea starts moving beyond the canvas.
It may involve an exhibition.
People.
Conversation.
Participation.
A shared experience.
A real-world action.
This is what happened with TURNING POINT.
It began as a solo exhibition.
But then people joined the live painting.
We created art together.
We talked about abstract art.
The audience rearranged fragments of the paintings and became part of the creative process.
And eventually, one painting — The Braid of Life — left the gallery and became part of a real conservation story.
The painting became a charitable action.
The action helped create nesting boxes.
And the story continues today.
This is when art becomes action.

AND THEN THERE IS LIFE IS WONDERFUL!
My project LIFE IS WONDERFUL! is different again.
It is not simply an exhibition.
It is not simply a collection.
It is an invitation to experience life differently.
I created a ten-day journey built around something very simple:
Five minutes.
Five minutes for yourself.
Every day.
For ten days.
A small pause to notice something beautiful, curious or meaningful.
Because sometimes art does not need to give us another thing to do.
Sometimes it simply needs to help us notice what is already there.

SO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
An Art Series connects paintings through a common artistic language.
An Art Collection brings works together into a larger curated world.
An Art Project takes the idea further — into experience, participation, conversation or action.
And perhaps this is the most important difference for me:
An art project is where the viewer does not remain only a viewer.
They become part of what is happening.
That is why I love creating art projects.
Because I never know exactly where they will lead.
I only know that once the idea starts moving,
the art begins to move with it.
And sometimes…
it reaches much further than the canvas.

LIFE IS WONDERFUL! — a ten-day journey inviting you to experience art as a way of seeing life.
And these are only some of the stories.

Because for me,
Art is not only something I make.
It is something that happens.
And sometimes,
it happens between us.
